Dear Friends,
Imagine being pregnant in the hellscape of Gaza. Where you wonder if you and your baby will be bombed or shot at any moment 24 hrs a day.. EVERY SINGLE day. Where there’s no food, and you risk being shot at for trying to access the little ‘aid’ there is. No clean water, no sanitation, no anaesthetic, no medicine or proper medical care available. Imagine what that must be like… And there’s no formula to feed newly delivered babies, while the mothers cannot breastfeed as they can’t produce milk due to the horrific circumstances. Imagine going into labour with bombs dropping all around.. the terrifying sounds of drones - gun shots - killing and wounding anything that moves.. Imagine all this, if you can.. I can’t even begin to go there.. but Palestinian mothers are trying to SURVIVE EVERY DAY THROUGH THIS MADNESS.

After reading an interview about the Windrush Home Office scandal given by actor @colinmcfarlaneofficial’s father - Dr Sidney McFarlane in 2023, I felt compelled to reach out to offer my support in making the British public aware of the terrible injustice the Windrush generation have been dealt for decades.

So to see Dr McFarlane now, looking up at our film on the Piccadilly Circus screen on #WindrushDay is a deeply moving full-circle moment.

15,000 silenced voices are finally being heard in the most powerful, public way as we continue to educate the nation about our British colonial history and bring this Home office scandal out into the light!

Spanning over 40 years of artistry, image-making, activism and iconic music history, this beautiful visual memoir brings together more than 200 photographs from Annie’s personal archives and iconic career, from Polaroids and portraits to music video stills and album covers.

In Annie’s own words:

NO mother on this earth should EVER have to experience her child being blown to pieces - buried under rubble - burned to death - targeted and shot at - wounded - limbs amputated with no anaesthetic - starved and emaciated - diseased - constantly traumatised - the list of unspeakable horror in Gaza is horrendous.
And for those ‘what abouters’ of COURSE no mother should have to experience their child being taken hostage...which has been happening to thousands of Palestinian children for decades!!!
As mothers we ALL yearn for a world where these standards of child protection are bound in international law and respected, so children and mothers can thrive!
The horrors taking place against Palestinian children are beyond anything l’ve ever witnessed in my lifetime. Our tax money is paying for it.

I’m supporting this open letter regarding the @kingsplacelondon multi - arts concert venue in King’s Cross - London, who plan to host the ‘Defence in Space’ conference, in October this year, sponsored by Lockheed Martin - the world’s largest arms dealer.
This decision runs in complete opposition to the mission statement for their ‘Earth Unwrapped’ series to “bring artists together to explore our wounded planet and how collectively we can seek healing.”
We request
1. Cancel the October 2025 conference
2. Make a public statement explaining their decision to accept business related to the arms industry.
3. ⁠Reassure the artistic community that future events at Kings Place will not be subsidised by blood money, and artists will not have to share a stage with war profiteers.
