Dear Friends,
Witnessing the leaders of the G7 get together for a formal picture today made me almost feel ill. They all hold the power to prevent the spread and escalation of what is taking place in the Middle East, yet they fail to do so.
My appreciation of George Orwell and Frank Kafka has deepened over the last two and a half years.
The times we’re living in now have pulled back the curtain to reveal the worst aspects of human behaviour. Is THIS where we lead the world towards extinction??

Dear Friends,

Dear Friends,
A few years ago I had the great fortune to spend a Sunday afternoon with David Hockney in his studio. It was a magical experience, as you might imagine.
As a teenager in the late 60’s I was instantly drawn to his work via the portrait of ‘Mr and Mrs Clark and Percy’, which I thought was the total essence of ‘cool’.
‘A Bigger Splash’ came a bit later. Life changing for so many reasons.
I LOVED his style..his bold sense of colour, pattern and contrast. His paintings and drawings ‘spoke’ volumes to me.
I feel so blessed and privileged to have met Mr Hockney.
His legacy will live on forever… 🕊️

It’s two and a half years since Oct 7th erupted on our screens…
A shocking and terrible event which has subsequently launched ongoing pain and suffering for everyone affected.
We have witnessed hellscapes every single day. Watching the displacement, the punishment and the relentless genocide, you have to ask, what kind of human being could see all this and not feel deeply despairing?
Isn’t there a sentence somewhere in a holy book that clearly states.

They are still bombing Gaza.. There has never been a genuine ceasefire..
I honestly do not understand why the Western powers have had such an investment in destroying the lives of tens of thousands of children, women and men indiscriminately for almost three years. Why is there little to no condemnation of this genocide, apart from those who protest on the streets??
Good citizens - many of them elderly - dragged into police custody and charged as terrorists for peacefully holding signs against genocide, as a POLICY of the Labour government??!!!
The whole wide world seems insane, with the invasions of Iran, Lebanon, Congo, Pakistan, Venezuela, Sudan, Lebanon and Ukraine - to mention a few of the 100 armed conflicts continuing around the globe.
Where is this heading??
When will it end??

There is rarely a passing day when we don’t hear, read or see the latest grotesque and dystopian horror events emerging from Gaza or other countries now being attacked by Israel.
And each time something comes to our attention it seems to become worse and worse. Just when you thought it couldn’t be more sadistic - more brutal - and more inhumane than the last atrocity. Everyone has been forced to kneel down with their heads on the floor and hands tied behind their backs. The sounds of a woman’s agonised screams resound in the background, while armed soldiers with dogs threaten and push them. THESE are the scenes that do Israel NO favours in terms of PR… The world sees this and is repulsed by the grotesque barbarism on display.
