Here’s a fine example to illustrate one of the most descriptive words in Scots dialect. "Dreich". Dreich is an adjective to describe a certain kind of weather quality, which is not totally uncommon in Caledonia..it means..grey dismal drab cold wet windy wretched rainy drizzly depressing and miserable..That kinda weather!
This photograph was taken from the 22nd floor of the Hilton Hotel, overlooking a stretch of the city of Glasgow..and guess what?! It was spot on dreich..Dreich to a T! Scots dialect tells it like it is folks!
