Update From Annie Lennox – 3.1.2008

It’s January 3rd, and I’m slowly emerging from the December hiatus…I guess that’s the same for a lot of people in the Western world.
My last trip to South Africa was extraordinary in all kinds of  different ways.
Each time I visit, my understanding/awareness becomes expanded.
The experience was so vivid, and “challenging”, that it has taken quite some time to process. And I’m still processing, to be honest.
In many ways I’m very pleased with what’s been happening with SING. It’s my first step in this particular direction, so I think there’s a lot to learn, and  some ways to travel.
As I think you probably realise…my commitment to trying to do “something” with regards to the HIV Aids situation is genuine and heartfelt.
I’m in for the long haul, so to speak.
Over the next few weeks I’ll be following up, and overviewing what has been achieved, and I very much want to keep everybody involved and informed.
At this point it remains to be said how touched I am by those of you who have taken the time and trouble to put up SING banners, and write messages of support. I personally really appreciate your responses!
My basic intention is to try to convey the extent of the pandemic, and how it affects millions of people in the most devastating way. My aim is to raise awareness, and try to make a positive difference in whatever way I can.  Please stay tuned, and stay with me on this folks…. Love from Annie
