OUTSTANDING ENTERTAINMENT LINE-UP ANNOUNCED FOR THE HUNTER FOUNDATION DINNER 26TH MAY, EDINBURGH… ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND TO SUPPORT THE EVENT…EVENT NOW FULLY SUBSCRIBED

 

President Barack Obama, 44th President of the United States, will deliver the keynote address at the dinner.

 

 

Sir Tom Hunter, founder of The Hunter Foundation, hosts to the forthcoming dinner in Edinburgh, today announced the incredible line-up of Scottish talent who will perform at the event following President Obama’s remarks.

 

Commenting, Sir Tom said;

 

“I’m proud, privileged and over the moon to announce Oscar winning musician, Annie Lennox, brilliant stand-up comedian, Kevin Bridges and world class rock band, Texas will all play at this amazing dinner. What’s even more amazing is that they are all doing this for the benefit of a charity of their choice.

 

“They are stand out talents of their generation and will provide a remarkable conclusion to what we all hope will be an incredible evening with all profits benefitting Scotland’s children’s charities.”

 

As one of the finest and most outstanding musical voices of our time ­Scottish singer songwriter, campaigner and activist Annie Lennox is celebrated as an innovator, an icon, and a symbol of enduring excellence.   Annie’s musical career is peerless, with over 80 million record sales to date.   She has received countless awards, including 8 Brit Awards (and a Lifetime Achievement Award) 4 Grammy Awards with 10 nominations, 26 ASCAP Awards, the American Music Award of Special Merit, a Golden Globe and an Academy Award.

 

She is the first woman to have received a BASCA Fellowship at the Ivor Novello Awards.   Her tireless humanitarian work is widely praised and has been recognized by numerous honours, including the prestigious Livingstone Award by the Royal Scottish Geographical Society, the Nobel Peace Laureates award for services to humanity and OBE awarded by Queen Elizabeth.

 

Kevin Bridges is without doubt a world class stand-up comedian with multiple TV appearances in the likes of Have I Got News for You and Would I Lie to You. Kevin regularly sells out all of his tours and is heralded as one of the most outstanding comedians of his generation. Kevin has supported numerous charities and is highly regarded for his support of UNICEF and Great Ormond Street. Kevin is also a great supporter of MND and Teenage Cancer Trust.

 

 

Sharleen Spiteri and Texas are a brilliant rock band with over 40m records sold to date, thirteen UK top tens and three number one albums…On 21st  April their new album, Jump on Board is released. Sharleen has been a staunch supporter of various charities and has been lauded for her support of the likes of CLIC Sargent and Children in Need.

 

As well as announcing the line up The Hunter Foundation confirmed that the event was being supported by Royal Bank of Scotland and that it was now fully booked.

 

Commenting Sir Tom added;

 

“I’m delighted to announce Royal Bank of Scotland, our partner across a number of events including the Kiltwalk and the STV Appeal have again stepped up to support this event.

 

“Demand for this dinner has been unparalleled in our own experience and we can only apologise to those who we cannot accommodate at the dinner.”

 

The Hunter Foundation also announced that all profits raised from the event will go to Scottish children’s charities participating in the Kiltwalk in 2017, some 300 charities, commenting Sir Tom added;

 

“We’d like as many young people in Scotland to benefit from this, hence offering a little support to a lot of charities across all of Scotland…”
