One of the principal annual events in the Scottish calendar ‘The Johnnie Walker Blue Label Great Scot Awards’, will take place on May 4th in Boisdale of Canary Wharf.

The evening will be hosted by Scottish journalist, television presenter and the Chairman of The Spectator Andrew Neil. The 2011 awards will be presented by the previous years’ winners, motor racing champion Sir Jackie Stewart Great Scot 2009 and world renowned painter Jack Vettriano Great Scot 2010.

The Great Scot Awards on May 4th will celebrate the rich diversity of talent from Scotland with nominees including Annie Lennox, Sir Tom Hunter, Kevin Bridge, Richard Wilson and Lorraine Kelly. This year there will be four key categories: Sport, Charity, Entertainment and the ultimate accolade the overall Great Scot of The Year 2011.

The Great Scot Awards 2011 is an evening dedicated to recognizing and raising a glass to the remarkable contribution the Scots have made to the world we live in today embodied on the evening by the nominees chosen to represent The Johnnie Walker Great Scot Awards 2011.
