I’ve spent a few good few hours sinking myself into Antony and the Johnsons recently....Well..not literally..( duh!)...but musically, and kind of spiritually...
I’ve found the experience to be both inspiring and disquieting..in  several ways.
I’ve surfed through quite a few of Antony’s interviews on U tube..and I’ve discovered him/her to be a truly charming, gentle...articulate, and insightful person. I find myself deeply touched, and then..there are areas that I just don’t really “get”....And that frustrates me, because I like to “get”  things. But that’s also fine, because it probably doesn’t matter whether I “get” it or not.
Perhaps it’s just the fine line between things being utterly ridiculous, on the one hand....and profoundly/ground breakingly radical, on the other. It’s hard to know which is which, or what is what sometimes..and then again, whether there’s a point..or not..If there even has to be ..a point. A kind of open minded question regarding ART..whatever that is, and however you define it...Thinking has been provoked..dialogue might ensue!
In any case..
Are there other Antony  affectionados out there ?? I’m sure  there must be squillions of you. Thoughts? Feedback?
Ps..this could lead to an interesting dialogue..considerate and intelligent comments please! Not that I’d ever expect anything else of you!!
